District 9 Umpire Meeting
Little League Baseball and Softball practice is in full swing for the 2010 season in District 9.
The District 9 Umpire Association is going to hold the March meeting on Saturday March 20, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Gold Corral located at 4690 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, FL 33966.
Join us at 9:00 for Breakfast (Dutch Treat) at the restaurant and then the meeting will start about 10:00. If you cannot join us early for Breakfast, please join us for the meeting. The meeting will be held in the meeting room off the main dinning room. The room is to the right when you enter the restaurant. We look forward to seeing everyone at the meeting. Anyone interested in joining the association please join us at the meeting on Saturday.
World Series and Southeastern Region Appointments
Please join the District 9 UIC and Administrator in congratulating Sidney Whitman on his appointment to the Little League Softball World Series in Portland Oregon. This continues a rich history of District 9 Umpires attending both Baseball and Softball World Series though out the United States.
There have also been many District 9 Umpires who have officiated Little League Southeastern Region Championship games in the past.
Local Umpire Clinic
There will be a local Umpire Clinic for 60 foot mechanics that will be held on April 3, 2010. The clinic will consist of both cage work and field mechanics.
The clinic will be in the morning at a field to be determined. We look forward to seeing everyone on the field.
Southern Region Umpire Clinic
If you are interested in improving your umpire skills you should attend a Southeastern Region Clinic. This Umpire Clinic will be hosted for the first time at the new Little League Southeastern Regional Headquarters in Warner Robbins Georgia.
The clinics will be held during the following times:
3/26 - 28/2010 Umpire Clinic Regional HQ: Warner Robins, Ga
The clinics begin on Friday at 6:00 p.m. and end Sunday at noon.

Tournament Schedules
The District 9 Umpire Association will be looking for members to help fill positions for the upcoming Lee County Little League Tournaments. Each year we help the hosting leagues find umpires to support the Tournament. Keep these dates in mind and leave your schedule open. We look forward to seeing you on a field.
The Tournament dates are as follows:
Starting Date - March 27, 2010 - Minor Softball Tournament
Starting Date - April 17, 2010 - Junior Baseball
Starting Date - May 1, 2010 - LL Baseball, LL & SR Softball
Starting Date - May 15, 2010 - Senior Baseball
Starting Date - June 1, 2010 - 9 Year Old All Stars
