to the home of the Florida District 9 Umpire's Association.

This site is primarily devoted to Little League umpires and umpiring, both for baseball and softball. If you are looking for the main web site for District 9 itself, you will find it at http://www.fld9.com/.

The umpires in this Little League District of Southwest Florida server the communities of Fort Myers, Cape Coral, North Fort Myers, Port Charlotte, Pine Island, Punta Gorda and Arcadia.

New District 9 Umpire Meeting and Clinic

The District is ready for the 2012 Little League Regular Season.

The District 9 Umpire Association is going to hold the next meeting on Saturday January 28, 2012. The meeting will be held at the Gold Corral located at 4690 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, FL 33966.

Join us at 9:00 for Breakfast (Dutch Treat) at the restaurant and then the meeting will start about 10:00. If you cannot join us early for Breakfast, please join us for the meeting. The meeting will be held in the meeting room off the main dinning room. The room is to the right when you enter the restaurant. We look forward to seeing everyone at the meeting. Anyone interested in joining the association please join us at the meeting on Saturday.

All area Little League Baseball and Softball teams have begun their sign ups. If you are interested in becoming an umpire please go to a local Little League and let them know you are interested in helping to umpire. You will have a different view of the game we all enjoy. It does not matter if you are a dad, mom, brother, sister or even a coach you are always welcome on the field to umpire.

All Little Leagues will be starting in February and continue through May. You can start helping umpire any time during the year.

We look forward to seeing you on a local field.

2012 Pre-Season District 9 Umpire Clinic

The District 9 Staff will be hosting 2012 Little League Rules and Field Clinics. This clinic is a great way to start the season for all people that will be on the field as an umpire in the 2012 season.

New Umpire Clinics for 2012

The Southeastern Region is holding their umpire clinic. The clinic will be held in Warner Robins Georgia.

  Mert Leeman – Florida Mert received the 2010 Little League Baseball and Softball Meritorious Service Award for the Southeastern Region for his 25 years in Little League, 12 years as a DA. Mert currently serves as the President of the State of Florida DA Association.
  
  Mert, congratulations form all the Umpires in District 9 on this great accomplishment.
